How wonderful are these photos that Sarah Maizland took for me?! I love it when photographers send me some images of their paper products.. they always make them look spectacular with their photo-magic.
The things that make this business card work are
#1. The SIMPLICITY of it. Too much information waters down the real details..
#2. The mix of FONTS.. a serifed font + a mix of italic font that add just enough pizazz… that makes it pottery barn elegant.. but still classic.
#3. The COLORS… simple… neutral… and the pop of black that makes the information stand out.
A simple card… that says a lot.. I love designing things for Sarah.. since there are so many small details that make her classic style shine through her branding.. and really allow her work to show through her branding.
I got to design her blog too!!! Check out her fabulous photos.. HERE!
I think that Sarah is just a fantastic photographer with mad design taste… and on top of that she is just a downright fabulous person..
2011. A new year.. a fresh start.. and yes.. January always is a time to look into what we want to change.. and what we want to become… I have been reading a book by Max Lucado The Cure for the Common Life. I just have to share what I have been learning and how it completely will help you with branding your business.
Is not some self help book… but more of a ” who were you created to be books.” it has inspired me.. and really made me so happy to be designing..
I am created to do this.. God designed me specifically to design, create + inspire others through design. I get giddy to sit at my computer.
What do you get giddy to do?!
What makes you Swoon… ?!
Do you make bouquets in your head before you are going to sleep?
Do you look at life like you look through a camera lens?!
Does your branding reflect the love that you have for your profession?! These are the questions you need to ask yourself.. and if you don’t feel like people can see the real, passionate you through your branding.. then you need to revamp what you have. I love this verse from the Bible…” Let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us, confirming the work that we do. Oh, yes, Affirm the work that we do!” Psalm 90:17
We are created for something great.. I get giddy every time I get to design.. I have a new fresh take on the talents that God has given me.. and I can’t WAIT to share that with other people this year…
Introducing…. Megan Welker Photography. Some clients you just simply fall in love with. Megan was one of them.
It might be because we both have a passion for Helvetica Neue Light. When I saw her inspiration board with a array of neutrals and a pop of color.. I started Swoooooning! I am so happy with how this branding has come along so far! Be ready for more pieces in 2011… and for more blogging.. I can’t say it’s my New Year’s Resolution.. ( because I never keep them… but I am going to make a valiant effort! )
Make sure to check out Megan’s Blog. She has a great post up today!
Brian and I were so EXCITED to get the chance to work with Ryan Haack also known as Mr. Haack Photo! It was such a fun adventure with Ryan.. First of all.. we got rained out for our shoot like three times!! *but* God was good.. and the third time is a charm… and Ryan worked his magic… and we got FABULOUS images!!! Make sure to see all our Christmas cards at Posh Paperie.
I also got the chance to brand Mr. Haack. It was so fun… I just love it when clients take the *less is more* approach. It always keeps the branding so complete and about the product.. I just can’t tell you how happy I am with the end product… Let me know what you think.. and don’t forget to check out the talented Ryan Haack.

I had the greatest privilege of working with Beth Jones from BJones STYLE on SYLIT.
She is one of the liveliest people in her industry and quite possibly one of the most talented! If you want to stalk her blog like I do.. feel free! haha!!
This was one of my most FAVORITE projects of the year! It is the Daily Fashion Planner that allows you to plan out your outfits as you plan your daily itinerary at the same time. We printed everything through Posh Paperie including the letterpress cover, and all the inside pages. It is on 220 pound cover stock.. and the inside pages are a ecru linen paper bound with a metal coil.
Working on this book with Beth was such an adventure. We got to start with creating the SYLIT logo and cover design.. to then going page by page.. It was such a fun project as a designer.. and by far one of my greatest accomplishments.. I can now say that I am in the “book business”. Not only that.. but since I was a Fashion Major in college.. I got to dig into my past a lil’ bit! I am so happy with how this book turned out.. and I can’t wait to use mine!! It is full of Jet-setting tips, inspiration boards to stash all your seasonal finds, places to doodle your inspirations for the month, and most importantly is a full year planner that allows you to style yourself everyday!
You can purchase your own stylit HERE! Make sure to stop by Beth’s Blog and get some fashion tips!
I had to add a picture of Beth here at the end.. so you can see how stylish she is!

I had a blast getting to work with Aly from The Vines Leaf. She is such a talented designer.. and really has a great eye not only for what she does, but for good design! It is so refreshing! I wanted to highlight her new blogsite/website that we created.. and her new logo! It has such a classic meets earthy feel to it.. that I can’t help but get so excited about it. I hope you take a minute to look through everything that Aly has to offer!
Be Proud of me.. I finally took a moment to BLOG! I know.. I know.. life gets crazy… and BAM.. a whole month will go by.. and i have not eve taken a photo to show anything.. *sheesh* I got to work on these fabulous cards for Kelly Loock. How great is it that at her school.. they are able to pick their own style of cards. We stuck to a deep plum.. to have super stylish meets professional. I just love the unique layout of information. The *best* part about these cards?! They are for my sister.. so not only do I think she is stylish.. she also is pretty darn tooting fabulous to be the VP of a school.
It seems like I haven’t blogged in forever! I just got sucked into all the fall weddings that are coming up in September and October.. to see what Posh Paperie has been up too.. Check out Our Blog. Of course all my normal branding and logo creating has been happening too..
So.. I had to share this branding that was so fun create! Check out their splash pages right now. It is just a great mix of preppy and wedding whimsy. I love love love the navy blue and yellow. All credit on that one must go to the client. I just found it inspirational.. and ran with it.
There are so many fun things on the horizon too!! More Blog posts to come.. I promise!!
I had such a fabulous time creating this logo for Sarah Maizland. Not only is she a very talented photographer.. she also has fabulous taste.. I am always encouraging client to simplify.. and Sarah captured me from the get go.. She wanted something modern and simple… but with a little flair.. Just the way I like it! I can’t wait to see Sarah’s new logo in action!
