Schebesta Family

I just wanted to share this with everyone.. it is such a fun thing to do for your family.. a family logo!!! When Emily contacted me… I got so excited to do something that was so personal! She also has a photography business too!

The Schebesta’s are using this logo on Envelopes, Notecards, and she even made a stamp! I just loved getting to create this special piece of the schebesta’s family! The *best* news of all? They just had a baby boy!!!

Congrats!!

3 things I love…

Today is my three year Anniversary! It seems like yesterday that I got to marry the love of my life. In honor of 3 years.. I thought I would share 3 things I love/appreciate/*swoon* over in my life.

#1. LOVE. Love for God, Love for my family, and of course.. Love for my Husband.

#2. Franklin. This anniversary is so special since it is the first time celebrating it as a family of THREE!

#3.  Obsession. Most people don’t love their jobs.. but I on the other hand am obsessed. I am so thankful to wake up and love what I do everyday.. ( and into the wee hours of the night!)

Aaron Shintaku

I loved getting to work with Aaron … He is straight up Hi.lar.ious. Not only is he funny, but he is extremely talented..   When we envisioned his logo.. we wanted to keep it clean but have a nautical undertone. We really wanted to allow Aaron to stand out without being overly dramatic and take away from his images. I am so happy with how this logo turned out.. you have to check out Aaron’s site that he designed to see it in ACTION!

Crisp!! White Linen’s fresh new look.

I am so excited to introduce to you…..WHITE LINEN.

Yes. I am *giddy* as I get to blog about them…. and yes.. even I *swoon* over their branding. It is so simple yet elegant. Present yet nostalgic.. and most of all.. just all around FABULOUS.

It doesn’t hurt that Brooke and Michelle are absolutely fabulous ladies… and not to mention hysterical. I remember back to our phone consult when we realized we had nothing design-wise to chat about.. but ended up shooting the breeze for a good hour! Their work is fabulous and you can see their images HERE. They even did a post on their new branding HERE.

Why their branding works.

LESS IS MORE. By sticking to a 2 color logo we are able to see the true beauty of their images without being distracted by too much on their website.A simple sprig that can be tied into all their branding is a small detail that adds a TON.. not to mention it makes them different. I also love love love their pattern that is simple lines and dots.. but somehow makes you feel like you stepped into a pretty lil’ wallpapered room that just feels like HOME.

I can’t wait to see their business cards in print. I am sure there will be a post on those beauties all by themselves.

Sweet and Saucy Before and After.

I got to spend the weekend with the lovely Melody from Sweet and Saucy and it inspired my to write this blog post. I remember when Sweet and Saucy was just starting out.. and we came up with this logo. We wanted it to reflect the sweet drops that are in the sugary treats .. and the savory drops that are in the hors de vours that Melody was catering at the time. I loved the pop of violet that is in the original logo… BUT.. I love love love the neutral color palette that is in the logo that most people have come to recognize!! It is so amazing to see a business evolve.. I just had to share!!

Grace and Parker

I am so excited to be working on a fun and flirty spa product line for Sanctuary Spa in Ocean Beach. Tracy who owns the spa.. wanted to add her personal touch to the products there. She is currently still fine-tuning the mixtures.. so it will be awhile for the product shots to come.. but I can’t wait…especially since the label design is almost done! The sweetest part of this logo… is that Tracy’s daughters’ names are Grace and Parker. I LOVE THAT!

Here is a sneak peak of the Logo that will go on all the bottles and branding.

Sarah Layne

I loooove Sarah’s Branding.. She sent me so many vintage inspirations to draw from.. and Sarah also really understood the importance of less is more.. Her branding is able to be carried throughout each piece without being overwhelming. Check out the additions she created on her blog HERE. I also can’t wait to share with you the website and blog that we are currently cooking up!! Everything is going to match PERFECTLY and her brand will be cohesive throughout her print to web. Make sure to visit Sarah’s Blog.. she truly has goregeous images.. and I think her post describes her branding best….

“vintage, pretty in a clean modern way, handmade, and environmentally-aware”

leave a comment if you think we got her branding right!!

Sarah’s Cards

How wonderful are these photos that Sarah Maizland took for me?! I love it when photographers send me some images of their paper products.. they always make them look spectacular with their photo-magic.

The things that make this business card work are

#1. The SIMPLICITY of it. Too much information waters down the real details..

#2. The mix of FONTS.. a serifed font + a mix of italic font that add just enough pizazz… that makes it pottery barn elegant.. but still classic.

#3. The COLORS… simple… neutral… and the pop of black that makes the information stand out.

A simple card… that says a lot.. I love designing things for Sarah.. since there are so many small details that make her classic style shine through her branding.. and really allow her work to show through her branding.

I got to design her blog too!!! Check out her fabulous photos.. HERE!

I think that Sarah is just a fantastic photographer with mad design taste… and on top of that she is just a downright fabulous person..

Cure for the Common

2011. A new year.. a fresh start.. and yes.. January always is a time to look into what we want to change.. and what we want to become… I have been reading a book by Max Lucado The Cure for the Common Life. I just have to share what I have been learning and how it completely will help you with branding your business.

Is not some self help book… but more of a ” who were you created to be books.” it has inspired me.. and really made me so happy to be designing..

I am created to do this..  God designed me specifically to design, create + inspire others through design. I get giddy to sit at my computer.

What do you get giddy to do?!

What makes you Swoon… ?!

Do you make bouquets in your head before you are going to sleep?

Do you look at life like you look through a camera lens?!

Does your branding reflect the love that you have for your profession?! These are the questions you need to ask yourself.. and if you don’t feel like people can see the real, passionate you through your branding.. then you need to revamp what you have. I love this verse from the Bible…” Let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us, confirming the work that we do. Oh, yes, Affirm the work that we do!” Psalm 90:17

We are created for something great.. I get giddy every time I get to design.. I have a new fresh take on the talents that God has given me.. and I can’t WAIT to share that with other people this year…
